Master of Education (MED) programs are designed for currently certified teachers.

Southeastern offers three MED options: curriculum and instruction, educational leadership, and special education. The MED in educational leadership is offered through the Department of Educational Leadership and Foundations. Details below apply only to the options in curriculum and instruction and special education.

Admission Requirements

  1. Satisfy requirements for regular admission set by the Office of Graduate Studies except where the following requirements are higher or more specific.
  2. Hold at least a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university.
  3. Have a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.5.
  4. Hold teaching certification in any U.S. state.

Program Cost

The MED program is included in the Southeastern Online flat rate tuition program.

Curricula

Each MED program includes multiple concentrations. Students must select one concentration to pursue. Concentrations denoted with asterisks satisfy the coursework requirements for add-on certifications in Louisiana.
