MakerBot Certification

Louisiana GEAR UP high school students will gain a proven edge with design thinking
skills and hands-on 3D printing while earning a 
certification for MakerBot 3D Design & Printing taught by Southeastern Louisiana University’s
Assistant Professor of Industrial Technology, Dr. Mehmet (Emre) Bahadir. 

This introductory workshop will provide participants with entry-level engineering
design and 3D printing knowledge and skills that will get them started on the road
to high-pay, high-demand jobs in advanced manufacturing and related fields. 3D printing
can be used in a wide variety of industries including manufacturing, biology and scientific
modeling, education, legal, architecture and construction and more.

This 20-hour workshop is held over five days to complete the certification. It is
instructor paced with some self-pacing options. The certificate is not an Industry-Based
Certificate, meaning it is not required to work in the industry, but completion will
provide participants with higher level knowledge and skills that could lead to high-pay,
high-demand jobs, should participants chosen to pursue them. Let us know. We are here

The workshop dates are five (5) consecutive Saturdays starting September 19 and ending
October 17th:

  • Oct 17

 

The workshop meets online for four (4) hours each Saturday from 12:00-4:00. 

You will be provided with the Google Meet link to join the class each Saturday and
a MakerBot login to access the workshop materials.
