Thank you for your interest in scheduling an appointment with the Office of Career Services! As of Fall 2019, our office utilizes Handshake -- our “one-stop career shop” that allows you to schedule appointments with our office to take care of your career preparation and job-search needs.
Our team takes pride in assisting students and alumni to achieve their career goals.

For current students and alumni that graduated during/after Fall 2019: A Handshake account has already been created for you -- access your account using your @southeastern.edu email address and associated password.
For alumni that graduated before Fall 2019: Click on the alumni login button below where you will be prompted to log in to Handshake with a unique set of Handshake credentials.
Follow these step by steps instructions on how to schedule your appointment. Our office is now offering virtual appointments through Google Meet phone or video call. Your assigned staff member will provide instructions prior to your appointment.

Appointment Types
Career Exploration (60 minutes): Meet with a career counselor to discuss your questions and/or concerns regarding your career goals. (available to juniors, seniors, master’s students, and alumni)
TypeFocus Review (60 minutes): Meet with a career counselor to review the results of your TypeFocus assessment.
(available to seniors, master’s students, and alumni)
Resume Review (30 minutes): Meet with a Career Services staff member to review and get recommendations on your
resume.
Resume and Cover Letter Review (60 minutes): Meet with a Career Services staff member to review and get recommendations on your
resume and cover letter. (available to seniors, master’s students, and alumni)
“Express” Resume Review (15 minutes): No appointment needed - "Walk-in" to have your resume and/or cover letter reviewed
prior to career fairs, job fairs, and specialized job fairs.
Interview Preparation (30 minutes): Schedule time with a Career Services staff member to become interview ready. Explore
our Big Interview resource and dive into strategies for doing your research, connecting
the job description to your skills, and common interview questions.
Mock Interview (60 minutes): Ready to take your interview skills to the next level? Schedule your mock interview
with a Career Services staff member to get the practice needed to ace your upcoming
interview. (Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are required to complete Interview Preparation
appointment before scheduling a Mock Interview.)
Internship and Part-Time Job Search Strategies (60 minutes): Take a proactive approach to your part-time job search process! Gain knowledge of
effective techniques and develop a plan for your job search including utilization
of LinkedIn, networking, and other powerful tools.
Full-time Job Search Strategies (60 minutes): Take a proactive approach to your job search process! Gain knowledge of effective
techniques and develop a plan for your job search including utilization of LinkedIn,
networking, and other powerful tools.
Personal Statement Review: (60 minutes): Applying to a fellowship, grant, or graduate school? Meet with a career counselor
to polish your personal statement.
Student Lab: Get access to our computer lab located in the Student Union -- Room 2102 (Next to
SU Theater).
Handshake Assistance (30 minutes): Want to become familiar with our “one-stop career shop”? Meet with a Career Services
staff member to maximize your Handshake experience -- get access to 1000’s of jobs,
connect with like-minded students, research and network with top employers, register
and attend career fairs, and more!
Complete A Class Assignment (15 minutes): Meet with a Career Services staff member to complete your class assignment.
