Teaching Excellence Team

Are you excited about teaching? Would you like to spread that excitement by sharing your knowledge and expertise with other faculty?  If you answered yes, then please apply for Southeastern’s Teaching Excellence Team, an interdisciplinary team of faculty who promote and facilitate campus discussions on teaching excellence.

Team Benefits

To enhance your teaching strategies and skills, expenses will be paid (as per State guidelines) for you to attend The Teaching Professor Conference.  The conference will include special sessions that align with Southeastern’s focus on student success, enrollment and retention.  You will be given the opportunity to share your expertise with your colleagues and students in support of Teaching Excellence at Southeastern!

Team Requirements

  1. Share what you learn with others.  The Teaching Excellence Team will organize and serve as presenters for the Fall Faculty Forum and Spring Seminar Series.  Each semester activity will require you to present at least one professional development activity through the Center for Faculty Excellence.
  2. Team members must be available to attend The Teaching Professor Conference.
  3. Team members must be full-time faculty members and assist the Center in promoting Excellence in Teaching by serving as contacts for colleagues.

Application

Submit your APPLICATION by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1.

Faculty Conference

The Center for Faculty Excellence hosts an annual conference each November to celebrate the scholarly accomplishments of Southeastern's faculty. This is a great opportunity for faculty across all disciplines to come together and share their wisdom. All faculty are invited to participate. Watch your email for the call for presentations!

Portfolio Fair

The Center hosts a Portfolio Fair each November to assist you with assembling your portfolio. Sample portfolios are displayed, and experienced faculty are present to answer your questions and discuss issues related to teaching, research and service.

Lyceum Lights

According to Webster's Dictionary, Lyceum refers to a venue for public lectures or discussions.  Join us each Fall and Spring semester as we gather over lunch for a faculty lecture designed to illuminate our common interests. Additional information is always provided via your Southeastern email.
