While Sprintax Calculus is being provided to assist in determining your U.S. tax residency and treaty eligibility, you are individually responsible for verifying that the correct information has been entered into the Sprintax Calculus software and included on all forms and/or other documents printed or derived from the tax software, and ultimately responsible for any errors or omissions.

Accessing Sprintax

You should receive an email to your @southeastern.edu email from [email protected] titled “Your Name – Welcome to Sprintax Calculus”. 

If you do not activate your account within 24 hours of receiving this email, you can request a new activation link here: https://calculus.sprintax.com/forgotten-password/ and enter your email. Please check your junk or spam folder or in “all mail” if you use a focused inbox. 

This email will not be spam or phishing, but rather a legitimate email providing instructions for logging into Sprintax Calculus and completing an updated tax questionnaire. 

Deadline

Please complete your Sprintax Calculus profile as soon as possible, and we would like to have your taxes set up properly when you start to get paid.

What is Sprintax Calculus?

Sprintax Calculus is a secure online tax compliance system designed to give Nonresident Aliens and Resident Aliens the ability to provide Southeastern with their immigrant and tax data efficiently and effectively.

Sprintax Calculus will help you:

  • Determine residency for tax purposes
  • Tax treaty eligibility, and
  • Produce the tax forms applicable to your case, based on the information you enter
  • Most of the documents produced such as Form W-8BEN and Form 8233 should generally be signed and provided to Southeastern prior to us arranging your first payment.

Sprintax returns is an online federal e-filing and state tax return self-preparation software for US nonresidents. This is a separate system from Sprintax Calculus as Calculus is for the university.  Sprintax Returns may be used to assist in preparing your State and Federal returns each tax year.  To find out more, please visit Sprintax.com.

Sprintax Upcoming Filing Season and OPT Webinars

In these tax webinars, international students, scholars and professionals will be run through everything they need to know about nonresident tax for the 2024 tax season. Topics will include who must file, tax residency, FICA, State returns, implications of misfiling as well as how to use Sprintax to prepare a compliant tax return

Sprintax Nonresident Tax Overview for OPT/CPT (A)

Topics covered will include residency for tax purposes, tax liabilities when on OPT/CPT and pre-employment tax forms when on OPT/CPT. The Sprintax team will also provide an overview of Sprintax Forms which can be used to prepare your pre-OPT/CPT employment tax documents
