If you want to … then …

Call on campus . . . Dial the 4-digit extension

 

Call local (Hammond, Ponchatoula, Independence, etc.) . . . Dial 9 + the 7-digit number

 

Call long distance via

 

1. Credit Card . . . Dial 9+1+800+ the number of your long distance carrier, then follow your carrier’s instructions for placing a call

2. LINC . . . Dial 9+area code+7 digit telephone number. If you hear three short beeps enter your seven digit telephone access code.

 

Transfer a call . . . Press Switch Hook or Flash, Dial the extension, then hang up

 

Make a conference call. . . Press Switch Hook or Flash, Dial the phone number, press Switch Hook or Flash again

 

Answer another phone in your pickup group. . . Dial 102

 

Put an existing call on hold while you answer another in your pickup group . . . Press Switch Hook or Flash, dial 102, the phone will ring three short rings when finished, hang up. Pick up to continue first call.

 

Use call waiting . . . Press Switch Hook or Flash, Dial 107. When finished, hang up. The phone will ring three short rings. Pick up to continue first call.

 

Forward your calls . . . Dial 72, then the phone number. Dial 73 to cancel call forwarding.

 

Send calls (only works within a coverage path) . . . Dial 101. Dial 103 to cancel.

 

Redial last number dialed . . . Dial 117

 

Place a call on hold . . . Press Switch Hook or Flash, Dial 107. To return to call, hang up (phone will ring)

 

Place a call on hold while you place a second call . . . Press Switch Hook or Flash, Dial second number. When finished with either call, hang up — (other call rings back.)

 

Park a call . . . Press Switch Hook or Flash, Dial *90. To answer back from another phone, Dial *91, then the extension where parked.
