General Specifications Walnut or Mahogany Lacquer Type Finish Traditional Desks and Credenzas Tops: All tops are a minimum of 1 3/16″ thick 5-ply construction. Tops to be banded on four sides with solid molding of the same wood species as the desk. All four sides to have a Chippendale shaped edge. Pedestals: All pedestals are a minimum of 3/4″ thick 3-ply construction faced with veneers of the same wood species as the desk. Pedestal backs to be tenoned into side panels plus utilizing wood cleats and screws. Pedestal bottoms to be tenoned into side panels. Pedestal to be secured to top through panel plus wood cleats and screws. The pedestal shall have a closed base of a minimum of 3/4″ solid lumber core. Double pedestal desks shall have on all outside panels a solid rectangular configuration of mitered and hand fitted molding. Each drawer pedestal or cabinet to be equipped with a dust bottom. Drawer Construction: Drawer fronts are a minimum of 13/16″ thick with veneer faces. Drawer sides and back are a minimum of 7/16″ thick solid wood of the same species as the desk and dovetailed at all four-corners. The drawer bottom is securely framed in place and has glue blocks or glue seams on all four-sides to prevent vibration. All drawer interiors are of the same species as the desk. All pulls to be English Antique. All file drawers to be equipped with hanging bars for letter and legal size filing. All large box drawers are grooved to accept drawer dividers. All desks to-be equipped with a minimum of two drawer dividers and one pencil tray. Drawer Suspension: Box Drawers – All box drawers operate on metal guides with nylon or ball-bearing rollers. File Drawers – All file drawers operate on a 3-part heavy-duty full suspension with ball bearing rollers. All drawers to be equipped with positive drawer stops. Finish: The final protective coating on this series is to be of a coatalyzed lacquer or resin material polished to a satin finish.
