Legislative Branch

The Student Senate, which serves as the Student Government Association’s Legislative Branch, is led by the SGA Vice President, Levi Spiers.

Senators, as members of the Legislative Branch, serve as representatives of the student body. Each Senator represents 500 of their fellow students within their academic college. The Senate works to pass legislation that affects students on campus in various ways. Senators can pass financial legislation to reimburse students’ travel expenses for academic and extracurricular travel, legislation to assist departments in purchasing equipment for classes, legislation to support student organizations in hosting educational events on campus, and much more. They can also make resolutions on behalf of the student body to support and promote specific initiatives that benefit the students at Southeastern.
