Canvas Login Assistance

If you have been redirected to this page, then your account was not recognized by Canvas. Follow the steps below to ensure you are logged into your official university Google Account before accessing the Canvas link.

1. Close All Browser Windows and Reopen Your Web Browser: This ensures a fresh start and minimizes potential conflicts from previous sessions.
2. Navigate Directly to Google.com:
   • Google.com: Southeastern uses Google for its services. You can also go directly to google.com.
3. Check for Existing Google Account Logins:
   • If the login page automatically prompts you to choose a Google Account, carefully verify that the displayed account is your official university Google Account (e.g., @selu.edu).
   • If the account is incorrect, look for a “Logout,” “Switch Accounts,” or “Use Another Account” option and proceed to the next step.
4. Select or Enter Your Official University Google Account Credentials:
   • If you are not already logged in, or if you logged out an incorrect account, select or enter your official university Google Account email address (e.g., @selu.edu).
   • You will then be redirected to Google’s login page. Enter your university Google Account password.
5. Verify Successful and Correct Google Account Login:
   • Look for your Google profile icon or the initial of your name, and verify that the google account associated with that icon is your university account.
   • If you cannot verify your identity, logout, and try again.
6. Locate Canvas:
   • University Website: Once you have confirmed you are logged into your correct university Google Account, find the link that directs you to Canvas. This is in the Quick Links Section.
   • Google Apps Launcher: If you are logged into your university Google account, look for the Google Apps launcher (the grid of nine dots) in the top right corner of the Google page. Click it, and then look for the Canvas icon within the list of apps. If it is not there, then use the university website method.
7. Click the Canvas Link or Icon:
   • Click the Canvas link provided on the university website or the Canvas icon in the Google Apps launcher. Because you have authenticated with your university Google Account, Canvas should recognize your credentials and log you in automatically, or prompt you one final time to authenticate.

• Phishing Prevention: Be vigilant about suspicious emails or links. Always access the university website or Google directly.
• Account Verification: Never assume you are logged into the correct account. Take the extra moment to verify your Google Account.
• Google Account Security: Ensure you are using a strong, unique password for your university Google Account and enable two-factor authentication if available.
