All Southeastern Louisiana University faculty and staff are invited to participate in training related to military cultural competence and supporting military and veteran students on campus. Veterans on Campus is an interactive role-play simulation that builds understanding and appreciation of the challenges faced by student veterans. In the simulation, learners assume the role of a faculty or staff member and talk with three virtual student veterans struggling to adjust to college life, trying different approaches to see what works best. The learning objectives of the Veterans on Campus training are:
Faculty and staff who complete the online Veterans on Campus training will receive a certificate of completion and qualify to receive Southeastern’s “Green Zone” training recognition. This includes a military-friendly “Green Zone” badge (decal) and a digital version of the badge. Faculty and staff will also receive a Military Challenge Coin minted specifically for Southeastern Louisiana University.

This program is managed by a company called Kognito. To get started, select your Southeastern gmail account. You will be asked a series of demographic questions about your role. Once you submit your answers to the demographic questions, you will be able to launch the Veterans on Campus training. The training program takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.
