Southeastern appoints new director of Alumni Relations

      HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University announced today the appointment of Malayne Sharp as the director of Alumni Relations. Sharp is a two-time graduate of Southeastern, earning a Bachelor of Management and Business Administration in 2016 and a Master of Business Administration in 2017.
     Since graduation, Sharp has had a successful career in the healthcare industry in which she received multiple promotions and was noted for her managerial and interpersonal skills. She will be charged with enhancing the alumni experience, as well as increasing overall alumni engagement.
     “I feel fortunate to be given the opportunity to return to my beloved alma mater, and I look forward to being able to serve the university and its alumni in this new role,” she said.
     Southeastern’s President William S. Wainwright said, “As we look to the seminal year of our centennial, it is important that our new Director of Alumni Relations has the personality and abilities to work with alumni across all regions, business sectors, and graduating decades. Malayne will be that person.”
     “I am excited to come back to Southeastern and join this already strong Alumni team and build on the great work that has already been done,” added Sharp, who will begin her duties Dec. 1.
