Congratulations!

Once you’ve been accepted to Southeastern, your next step is to meet with an academic advisor through the Transfer Student Success Center (TSSC) or your academic department.

During your advising appointment, your advisor will review your transfer credits to determine how they apply toward your major and help you select the courses you need to register for the upcoming semester. Advising is designed to keep you on track for graduation and ensure you have the guidance and resources you need to be successful at Southeastern.

The Transfer Student Success Center (TSSC) is the first advising stop for all new transfer students!

If you are eligible to register for the upcoming semester, you will receive an email with a link to request your academic advising appointment. If you’ve been admitted but aren’t sure how to schedule an appointment, don’t worry — just contact the TSSC and we’ll be happy to help.

Students admitted for the Summer and Fall 2026 semesters will begin receiving advising appointment emails in April. Registration opens during the last week of April.

Once you submit your advising request through the TSSC, we’ll connect you with your Transfer Success Advisor, who will guide you through the next steps.

Be sure to check your email starting in April for the link to request your advising appointment!

If you are returning to Southeastern after attending another college or university and you are a sophomore, junior, or senior student, you will meet with an advisor in your academic department.

Students admitted for the Summer and Fall 2026 semesters will begin receiving advising appointment emails from their department advisors in April. Registration opens during the last week of April.

If you’ve been admitted but aren’t sure how to connect with your advisors, don’t worry — just contact the TSSC and we’ll be happy to help.

Prepare for Academic Advising

  • As you prepare for your advising appointment, access the Workday Resource website with your Southeastern Gmail. This site includes helpful tips and instructions to get familiar with Workday, your student portal.
  • Be sure to submit ALL official credits from previous colleges/universities (including military, dual enrollment, and AP/CLEP credits).
  • Review transfer credits in your Workday account to ensure all of your prior coursework is there.

Understanding Your Transfer Credit

  • Your transfer credits will be reviewed during your transfer advising appointment.
  • While many of your credits may transfer to Southeastern, not all transfer courses will automatically apply toward your specific major. Some courses may transfer as elective credit (e.g., courses listed as 1XXX, 2XXX, or XXXX) and may not directly fulfill degree requirements.
  • In some cases, these courses may be substituted or applied toward your degree as electives. Your academic department may ask you to provide a course syllabus from your previous institution to determine how a course can be used.

Academic Department Transfer Contacts

The Transfer Student Success Center is the initial advising contact for all new Transfer Students. Once you request your advising appointment through our office, we will connect you with your transfer success advisor.
