Southeastern’s Department of English offers an honors diploma in English and English
Education.

 

Honors Diploma in English

For the Honors Diploma in English, majors must complete the following requirements:
English 122H or 124H – 3 hours
History 101H, 102H, 201H, or 202H – 3 hours
Communications 211H – 3 hours
General Biology 151H or 153H – 3 hours
Honors 1911 – 3 hours
Senior Thesis – 0 hours
English H-Option 400-level2 – 9 hours

Total     24 hours

1 Satisfies Art Elective or Art/Music/Theatre/Dance requirement.
2 An H-option course may include participation in collaborative research, service
learning, an internship, or a Study Abroad program.
 

Honors Diploma in English Education

For an honors diploma in English Education, majors must complete the following requirements:

History 101H, 102H, 201H, or 202H – 3 hours
Communications 210H – 3 hours
General Biology 151H or 153H – 3 hours
Honors 1911 – 3 hours
Senior Thesis – 0 hours
Education 472H – 3 hours
English H-option 400-level2 – 9 hours

Total*     24 hours

*English 121H/123H, and 122H/124H, are recommended in place of English 101 and 102.
