Allison Kunjappy, MSN, RN, SANE-A, serves as a faculty member in the School of Nursing. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2010 and later completed a Master of Science in Nursing Education from Capella University in 2022.
With more than 15 years of critical care nursing experience in various units, Allison has specialized expertise in the Trauma Neuro ICU at a Level I Trauma Center in Baton Rouge. She continues to practice in a high-acuity ICU setting to advance her clinical knowledge and remain current with emerging medical advancements. In addition, she has been a certified Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner since 2015, completing specialized training through the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office.
Allison’s extensive clinical background and dedication to professional growth enhance her role as an educator. She teaches a wide range of courses, from third-semester skills labs and medical-surgical clinicals to senior-level high-acuity lectures and preceptorships. She takes pride in mentoring both current and former students, supporting their growth and success as they transition into professional nursing roles. As an instructor, she is deeply committed to fostering students’ confidence, critical thinking, and clinical competence, preparing them to deliver safe, compassionate care in complex healthcare environments.
