Ashley Bordelon serves as the Assistant Director and Instructor in the School of Nursing at Southeastern Louisiana University. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2004, Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama in 2015, and is currently pursing a PhD in Nursing Education and Administration from William Carey University.

She began her nursing career at Baton Rouge General Medical in the Birth Center, gaining experience in labor and delivery, postpartum, lactation, and step-down NICU care. She then served as a Clinical Educator and HealthStream LMS Administrator of the hospital for 4 years before joining SLU’s School of Nursing in 2017. She transitioned to the role of Assistant Director in 2020.

Area of Expertise

Her academic expertise includes skills lab, med/surg clinical, gerontological nursing, and leadership and management. She has chaired the Student Affairs Committee for over three years, coordinating the White Coat and Pinning ceremonies. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes instruction and mentorship, guiding students to develop critical thinking, clinical judgment, and professional confidence in a supportive environment.

As Assistant Director, Ashley oversees students and faculty at the Baton Rouge Campus, coordinating clinical rotations and collaborating with faculty, staff, and clinical partners. She also mentors new faculty, manages student compliance and records, supports adjunct faculty, and assists with scheduling and program operations.
