Connie Buccere, MSN, RN, CNE®, CCRN®, has been an undergraduate instructor in the School of Nursing since January 2023. She brings extensive clinical experience in cardiothoracic intensive care, with a special emphasis on pre- and post-transplant care, as well as adult acute care in orthopedics and neurology, and travel nursing.
A recognized contributor to her field, Ms. Buccere's work on "Hardwiring Best Practice Stroke Care" was presented at the 2011 ANCC National Magnet Conference. In 2021, she was a member of the pioneering recovery team for the first female recipient in the U.S. of the Aeson® total artificial heart. She is also the author of the book, So You Wanna Be a Travel Nurse?: An Insider's Guide to Getting Started. At Southeastern, her teaching focuses on connecting theory to practice in foundational and integrative nursing courses, including Individual Assessment Lab, Pathophysiology and Pharmacology II, and Adult & Gerontological Clinical.
Ms. Buccere holds a Master of Science in Nursing Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University. Reflecting her expertise and dedication in both clinical practice and pedagogy, she holds national certifications as a nurse educator (CNE®) and in critical care nursing (CCRN®). She is an active member of the American Nurses Association, American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
