Edward Hebert is a Professor of Kinesiology. His primary area of specialization is motor learning – the study of skill acquisition and coordination, and strategies that teachers/coaches/therapists can use to speed up learning in their students/clients/patients. He received the SLU President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2018, and is a two-time recipient of the Excellence in Research Award for the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
Dr Hebert’s research interests include:
● The “instructional variables” involved in teaching and learning (modeling, verbal instructions, feedback, practice organization).
● Career development issues among health and kinesiology professionals (e.g., self-efficacy, morale, burnout).
● College students and faculty during the COVID-19 pandemic - perceptions of COVID-related policies, concerns and mental health during the lockdown, preventive behavior engagement, COVID vaccine adoption/hesitancy.
