Mrs. Ford is full of Lion Pride. After completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Southeastern Louisiana University, she began her career as a Labor and Delivery nurse, where she discovered her passion for both patient care and fostering the learning of others. This passion led her back to Southeastern to pursue her Master of Science in Nursing Education, which she completed in May 2024. During graduate school, Mrs. Ford served as an adjunct instructor for the School of Nursing, teaching clinical skills and health assessment to first-semester nursing students. Now, she has “Lion Up’d” once again, this time as a full-time nursing instructor.
Mrs. Ford has a strong passion for obstetric nursing and brings years of real-world experience into the classroom. As a certified Inpatient Obstetric Nurse (RNC-OB), she has cared for high-risk laboring patients, circulated deliveries in all forms, and supported families through the full spectrum of childbirth experiences. She enjoys teaching both first- and second-semester nursing students, helping them build a foundation in critical skills they will carry into their careers, while ensuring they enter the clinical practice as safe, conscientious practitioners. She also has a special interest in guiding senior fourth-semester nursing students, as they enter the world of obstetric and pediatric nursing, sharing her clinical expertise and passion.
Beyond teaching, Mrs. Ford has contributed to professional development and research. She is an active member of AWHONN and serves on hospital committees dedicated to education, safety, and clinical excellence. With her combined expertise as a labor and delivery nurse and educator, Mrs. Ford is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of nurses and advancing the field of obstetric and pediatric care.
