Emily Weatherford is a two-time graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2003 and her Master of Science in Nursing Education in 2013. She has served as faculty at Southeastern for over a decade, teaching across the nursing curriculum—from foundational courses to senior-level preceptorship.
Beyond the classroom, Emily has served as a camp nurse in North Carolina for the past seven summers, an experience that inspired her publication in Clinical Nursing Studies titled “Camp Nursing: A Unique Opportunity for Nurses.” Her ongoing interests include promoting camp nursing as a valuable specialty and advancing the nursing profession while preserving its core identity as a calling.
Emily believes that sharing knowledge, passion, and lived experiences with students fosters both personal and professional growth and contributes to the collective commitment of improving healthcare within communities.
