Dr. Eva R. Hillmann is a faculty member in the Department of Biological Sciences. Her teaching and research center on coastal ecology, with a focus on submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV), habitat restoration, and water quality in Louisiana’s estuarine and nearshore systems. At Southeastern, she engages students in hands-on fieldwork and laboratory training, helping them build the practical skills needed to pursue careers in environmental science, coastal management, and conservation. By combining classroom instruction with applied research, Dr. Hillmann works to prepare the next generation of scientists to address the environmental challenges facing Louisiana’s coast.
