Jill Smith is an instructor with the School of Nursing. She earned her earned Master of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University.

As a faculty member, Jill teaches nursing skills labs, pediatric and adult clinical rotations, and community health courses. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes the integration of clinical expertise with compassionate care, fostering students’ ability to think critically, prioritize effectively, and develop sound clinical judgment. By integrating real-world experiences with classroom learning, Jill encourages students to approach patient care with compassion, cultural awareness, and a family-centered perspective that prepares them for practice in diverse healthcare environments. She is committed to preparing the next generation of nurses to deliver safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care.

Jill’s professional interests include advancing safe medication administration practices, promoting patient advocacy, and preparing future nurses to deliver holistic and patient-centered care across diverse settings.
