Dr. Cresson holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Texas A&M University and a B.S. in Physics from Loyola University. He is a faculty member at Southeastern Louisiana University, teaching Investment Analysis, Portfolio Management, and MBA Financial Policies. His research has been published or presented in over fifty outlets, including the Quarterly Journal of Business and Economics and Managerial Finance. He has served as a consultant to businesses, individuals, and organizations, and was recognized as the most outstanding MBA faculty member by students. Dr. Cresson also serves as faculty advisor for the CFA Institute Research Challenge team, Global Bloomberg Trading Challenge teams, and a $2.3 million+ Student Managed Investment Fund. Under his guidance, the 2025 CFA team won the Louisiana CFA Research Challenge and placed third in the Central & Southwest U.S. sub-regional competition. He has led four of the last five CFA teams to regional finals and actively engages students in hands-on investment experiences, including the Bloomberg Challenge, CFA Challenge, and Student Managed Fund.
