Jonathan Kinchen is an experienced instructor and lab coordinator at Southeastern Louisiana University, specializing in industrial technology, automation, and engineering technology. He holds a BS in Industrial Technology with dual concentrations in Automated Systems and Supervision, as well as an MS in Integrated Science and Technology, giving him a strong foundation in technological systems and their real-world applications.
With experience in both industry and academia, Jonathan has developed expertise in engineering technology, industrial automation, and interdisciplinary problem-solving. He is passionate about bridging the gap between theory and practice, which is why he teaches introductory courses in welding, engineering technology, industrial technology, and PLCs. His hands-on approach to instruction ensures that students gain practical skills alongside technical knowledge.
As lab coordinator, Jonathan plays a key role in curriculum development, industry partnerships, and mentoring students to prepare them for careers in the ever-evolving tech landscape. His leadership and technical insight make him a valuable asset to the university and the broader academic community.
Outside of work, Jonathan enjoys offshore fishing, exploring new advancements in automation, and tackling hands-on projects. He is also committed to mentoring students in STEM initiatives, helping to inspire the next generation of innovators.
