Keturah Green is a seasoned communication specialist, dynamic speaker, and award-winning educator from Baton Rouge, LA. A double alumna of Southeastern Louisiana University with more than a decade of teaching experience at the university, she is skilled in strategic messaging, rhetoric, leadership development, and event planning. Green holds an Honors College bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in organizational communication from SLU. She takes a multi-pronged approach to instruction, designing engaging course materials, innovative workshops, and cross-platform deliverables for diverse audiences. She is currently pursuing a fully funded Ph.D. in Media and Public Affairs at LSU’s Manship School of Mass Communication.

Green was selected for the Manship School’s competitive doctoral program in 2024. She earned a scholarship to study political communication and public affairs in Washington, D.C. (Summer of 2025), and was recently awarded a scholarship to attend the International Communication Association Conference in Cape Town, South Africa, in the Summer of 2026.

As a former communications director, she advocated for students and educators by securing award-winning grants, coordinating large-scale events, developing executive speeches, and providing media training and talking points, including White House panels and legislative convenings, as an education lobbyist.

Her accolades at SLU include NAACP Woman of the Year (2019) and the Division of Student Affairs Influential Educator of the Year. Green serves on the Board of Directors for Tankproof as Community Relations Managing Partner, supporting its mission to combat food insecurity and provide free swim lessons to children. Additionally, she is a member of the SLU Alumni Board and the longstanding Vice President of the SLU African American Alumni Chapter.

Area of Expertise

Green’s research, conducted through an AI and Storyteller’s Lab, explores the intersections of artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, strategic and political communication, and critical studies. She leverages this expertise to bridge theory and practice, build stakeholder and media relationships, craft effective communication campaigns, and advocate for marginalized and underrepresented communities.

Green primarily teaches online Public Speaking courses. Her additional teaching specialties include Interpersonal Communication, Introduction to Mass Communication, Event Planning, and Public Relations.
