Department of Sociology and Criminal JusticeTheresa Harriford is an instructor of sociology in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at Southeastern Louisiana University. She holds a Master of Science in Applied Sociology with a concentration in Globalization and Sustainability, as well as a post-baccalaureate certificate in Sustainability, both from Southeastern Louisiana University. Her research interests focus on developing sustainable and equitable communities where all people can thrive. In the classroom, she teaches Introduction to Sociology and Race and Ethnic Relations, using a collaborative teaching style that emphasizes cooperative learning, dialogue, and peer-to-peer engagement. Her teaching approach integrates diverse perspectives and teamwork to prepare students for success in a globalized world. She also leads an interdepartmental initiative to bring glass recycling on campus, reflecting her commitment to sustainability and community engagement.
