Rebecca C. Cannon serves as a Student Success Coach in the School of Nursing at Southeastern Louisiana University. She holds a Master of Education in Student Affairs Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Southeastern Louisiana University, and she is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership in Higher Education at Southeastern Louisiana University.
With more than two decades of experience in higher education, she is passionate about helping students reach their fullest potential by integrating academic coaching, innovative retention strategies, and holistic wellness approaches. Throughout her career, she has worked to create supportive environments that foster both academic achievement and personal growth, ensuring that students are equipped with the tools they need to thrive in and beyond the classroom. Cannon’s research interests focus on student success, servant leadership, and the promotion of mental and physical well-being, with particular attention to how leadership practices and wellness initiatives can positively influence persistence and satisfaction in higher education.
Cannon is a certified Emergenetics and Emotional Intelligence facilitator and has recently been elected to serve as a non-nursing member of the National Consortium for Nursing Academic Coaches.
