Dr. McLaughlin is an instructor in the department of psychology. She received her Ph.D. in Psychology from Louisiana State University. Her research interests include school-wide and classroom interventions for students with significant behavior challenges, social emotional development in children, ADHD, and Conduct Disorder in adolescents. She typically teaches general psychology, developmental psychology, principles of research design, and psychology of adolescents and adulthood.

Area of Expertise

Before joining the faculty at Southeastern Louisiana University, Dr. McLaughlin worked for over 20 years as a School Psychologist in Louisiana. She has experience in the areas of assessment and treatment of child and adolescent difficulties, effective classroom management, school crisis intervention, special education law and procedures, school-based mental health counseling, bullying prevention, social skills curriculum development, program development for students with behavior challenges, school-wide positive behavior support. and restorative justice/restorative practices.
