Dr. Shirley Griffey is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at Southeastern Louisiana University. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Valparaiso University in 2009. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing, Psychiatric Mental Health (Lifespan) from the University of South Alabama in August 2014 and earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice, Family Psychiatric Mental Health University of South Alabama in December 2014.
Dr. Shirley Griffey is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with a Perinatal Mental Health Certificate. She specializes in teaching graduate psychiatric mental health nursing courses and psychotherapy, and serves as a preceptor for psychiatric nurse practitioner students. Her research interests include perinatal nursing, psychiatric mental health, and cultural issues within mental illness.
