Respondus Lockdown Browser is a secure browser that can be used for taking test in Moodle. Not all tests or quizzes will use Respondus. The instructor has to choose to use Respondus and create the test to use it. If a Moodle test requires that Respondus LockDown Browser be used, you will not be able to take the test by logging into Moodle using a standard web browser like Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Chrome, Safari, etc. You will need to download Respondus Lockdown Browser on your computer and use it instead. Respondus Lockdown Browser should ONLY be used for taking Moodle tests. It should not be used for other assignment or in other areas of Moodle. Your instructor will inform you if a test requires using Respondus.
Steps to taking a test using Respondus Lockdown Browser (after you have downloaded it):
Step #1: Launch Respondus
Step #2: Choose Moodle
Step #3: Log into Moodle using your W# and password.
Step #4: Select the course that is giving the exam in Respondus.
Step #5: When you are ready to take the test, click on the exam.
Once you start the exam, you will not be able to navigate away from the exam, hence you will be "locked down".
