Hammond Depot. This depot was later moved several blocks south of Thomas Street and used as a freight depot. It burned in 1926 and was rebuilt in 1927. In 1974, the old Hammond Freight Depot and its property was sold by the Illinois Central Railroad to a local company. Today it houses a flea market.
