Parish Fair Grounds. The store was built by Claudie Bankston in late 1890’s. Donated
by heirs of Mr. Leon V. Bankston.

A side view of the Sylvest-Magee Cabin in Mile Branch Settlement on the Washington
Parish Fair Grounds. It is composed of two buildings. The Nehemiah Sylvest Log Cabin
(1880-1881), donated by Mr. & Mrs. T.C. Sylvest in 1977 is the front part and the
Magee House (1909-1910), donated by Misses Saddie and Ethel Magee in 1975 in memory
of their brother, Jacob Nathaniel “Big Jake” Magee, forms the rear portion of theis
structure.
