Kinship Navigator Program
The Kinship Navigator program Is a program that will support and sustain current formal
and informal kinship family placements. Once referred, a family will be given a needs
assessment.
The results of that assessment will determine the services for the family. Needs
and services include linkage with DCFS, the courts and the kinship family, supportive
listening and in-home
services as need indicates, education on current topics and solutions, and offering
information on eligibility for benefits, legal assistance, child care, housing and
training/education.
Referrals to the program are facilitated by D.C.F.S. (Department of Children and Family Services).
