Human Resources Office
It is the mission of the Human Resources Office to enhance and provide human resource related support services for post-secondary education, research and service for the University community.
Role of the Human Resources Office
The role of the Human Resources Office is to assist the university in recruiting, employing, training, and retaining faculty and staff and by maintaining official agency personnel records, administering benefits, classification and staff development programs.
The scope of the Human Resources Office encompasses instruction, research and service. Instruction is provided through staff development programs. Human Resources related research is conducted to gather information needed for strategic decision making. Services are provided to our faculty, staff and retirees. In addition, services are also provided to the public regarding employment opportunities with the university and the State Civil Service system.
New University of Louisiana System Policies
In response to a Consent Decree entered into by the University of Louisiana System, a new hiring policy has been developed to ensure that applicants for hire are considered without regard to their retirement status and without regard to prior complaints of discrimination or other protected EEO activity. Also in response to the Consent Decree, the ULS updated the Preventing and Addressing Retaliation policy. You may access Southeastern's new Hire policy and the revised Retaliation policy by selecting the links below.
UL SYSTEM POLICIES REGARDING THE PROHIBITION OF HARASSMENT, DISCRIMINATION AND RETALIATION AGAINST INDIVIDUALS BASED UPON ANY PROTECTED STATUS, INCLUDING THEIR RETIREMENT STATUS OR AGE. POLICIES REGARDING RETALIATION HAVE UNDERGONE MANY REVISIONS. ALL EFFORTS HAVE BEEN MADE TO REMOVE ALL DOCUMENTS FROM THE SOUTHEASTERN WEBSITE THAT CONTAIN INFORMATION THAT IS MISLEADING OR IN CONFLICT WITH ITS POLICIES REGARDING HARASSMENT, DISCRIMINATION, AND RETALIATION. THIS INCLUDES A REMOVAL OF ALL REFERENCES TO SUBJECTING INDIVIDUALS TO ADVERSE ACTIONS FOR FALSE COMPLAINTS WHICH MAY HAVE AN UNDULY CHILLING EFFECT ON AN INDIVIDUAL WHO HAS BEEN SUBJECTED TO SUCH ACTION. Click here if you believe that you have identified information on the Southeastern website that is out of compliance with UL SYSTEM policies.
You may complete the form and return it by email to ULSPolicyCompliance@southeastern.edu, or submit the form in person to the Human Resources Department or the EEO Officer.
