What is Rec Works?

Before your application process begins, you will need to attend one of our Rec Works Informational Sessions.  REC Works is a 2 hour interactive program that allows us to get to know you and for you to get to know us. You'll get a chance to meet the professional staff, current student staff members, and learn about the various positions offered. The director will take you on a scenic tour of the SAC and give you a brief history of Rec Sports at Southeastern.

I really want to be considered for employment but I can't attend Rec Works

Rec Works is mandatory for any current student interested in working for Recreational Sports and Wellness. Sometimes we find that we need to review student worker applications during the semester. We encourage you to complete a student worker application and mail, fax or email the scanned image to recsports@southeastern.edu or visit the Control Desk in the SAC lobby and complete an application so that we have your information on file. Also include your class schedule.

What are the different positions offered by Recreational Sports and Wellness?

Student staff positions include: Fitness Room, Control Desk, Group X Instructor, Personal Trainer, Rec Kids, and Camp Rec. The department also offers graduate assistantships and student facility supervisor positions. It is possible to be promoted. These details and more are covered in Rec Works.

Field Experience Hours

Field experience hours are available for teacher education students through the Rec Kids After School Program. For more information, email recsports@southeastern.edu.
