HAMMOND – The Louisiana Small Business Development Center (LSBDC) at Southeastern Louisiana University is hosting a seminar titled "Career Reinvention through Franchise Ownership" on Tuesday, Oct. 21, from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

Co-sponsored by the St. Tammany Economic Development Foundation and SCORE, the free seminar will be held at the Southeastern St. Tammany Administrative Complex, Building B, located at 21454 Koop Drive in Mandeville.

Sandy Summers, assistant director of the Southeastern SBDC, said the educational and interactive workshop will teach participants about franchise business ownership and the numerous opportunities available in the franchise world.

"If you're looking to be your own boss and would like to learn about franchising options in Louisiana, this class will serve as a great starting point," she said. "Instructor Ted Fireman will share FranNet's 27 years of business and franchise ownership experience."

Summers said the event will answer topics such as timing, viable options, minimizing risks and optimizing success, and realistic cost and time commitments.

There is no cost to attend the event; however, seating is only guaranteed for pre-registered attendees.
