Science and Technology students honored at Southeastern

1) COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY HONORS (E. Baton Rouge) -- Southeastern Louisiana University’s College of Science and Technology honored its distinguished students at the college’s annual honors convocation. Christopher Alexander of Baton Rouge was recognized as the Outstanding Graduating Senior in Mathematics.

2) COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY HONORS (St. Tammany) -- Southeastern Louisiana University’s College of Science and Technology honored its distinguished students at the college’s annual honors convocation. Residents from St. Tammany Parish honored were, from left, Daniel Benasco of Slidell, Outstanding Graduating Senior in Engineering Technology, and Keaton Northington of Covington, Outstanding Graduating Seniors in Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment.

3) COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY HONORS (Tangipahoa) -- Southeastern Louisiana University’s College of Science and Technology honored its distinguished students at the college’s annual honors convocation. Residents from Tangipahoa Parish who were recognized included, from left, Outstanding Graduating Senior in Chemistry Binit Sharma Poudel and Outstanding Graduating Senior in Physics Suyogya Karki, both of Hammond; and Outstanding Seniors in Biological Sciences Kalie Beckers of Independence and Januka Khanal of Hammond.


     HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University’s College of Science and Technology recognized students for outstanding academic performance at the college’s honors convocation held April 18.
     The college also announced new members of Southeastern’s own Thirteen Club honor society. New members include Kalie Beckers and Catherine Thomas of Independence; Timothy Carambat and Chibueze Onyeagusi of Covington; Stephen Cassingham of New Orleans; Alex Courtade of Greenwell Springs; Anjil Dhamala, Anup Ghimire, Utsab Karkee, Nisha Lama, Rahul Shrestha and Jacob Smith of Hammond; Nicholas Dolan of Denham Springs; Clara Krzykwa of French Settlement; Jenna McHugh of Ponchatoula; Jonathan Michel of Milton; Carl Roques of Robert; and Alex Ward of Slidell.
     “I am continually awed and humbled by the quality of our students,” said Dean Dan McCarthy. “Their outstanding accomplishments are a direct result of the quality and commitment of our faculty.”
     Awards were presented to the following students (by residence):
East Baton Rouge Parish
     Baton Rouge: Christopher Alexander, Outstanding Graduating Senior in Mathematics.

Livingston Parish
     Livingston: Ashton Guitreau, Outstanding Graduate Award in Industrial Technology (Associate Degree).

St. Tammany Parish
     Abita Springs: Matthew Puneky, Outstanding Graduating Senior in Computer Science.
     Covington: Keaton Northington, Outstanding Graduating Senior in Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment.
     Madisonville: Emily Soileau, Outstanding Graduating Senior in Industrial Technology (Bachelor Degree).
     Slidell: Daniel Benasco: Outstanding Graduating Senior in Engineering Technology.

Tangipahoa Parish
     Hammond: Suyogya Karki, Outstanding Graduating Senior in Physics; Januka Khanal, Outstanding Graduating Senior in Biological Sciences; Binit Sharma Poudel, Outstanding Graduating Senior in Chemistry.
     Independence:  Kalie Beckers, Outstanding Graduating Senior in Biological Sciences.
