HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University’s website, www.southeastern.edu, has a brand new look. The main homepage and many other popular pages, including
Admissions, Academics, Campus Life, About and News, now feature a new design concept,
layout and content with improved mobile responsiveness on any size device.
“Our Web Publishing and Communications teams developed this website refresh with
input from faculty, staff and current and prospective students,” said Executive Director
of Public and Governmental Affairs Erin Cowser. “After researching our previous site’s
analytics and reviewing best practices of other universities, we have a fresh new
look that will appeal to future Lions along with an organized, streamlined user experience
for all who visit us on the web.”
As additional enhancement current students, faculty and staff now have is a centralized
landing page titled My Den with links to all relevant services such as Webmail, Financials,
Moodle and more. The My Den page also highlights campus news, campus events, and announcements.
“The new look is modern and fun. In addition to looking good, the overall site
structure makes content easier to find, and it works great on my phone,” said graduate
student Samantha McNally, who tested the site before launch. “I love the new My Den
page; it’s so convenient to have all my services together on one page.”
The first time a user visits the new site, a message will offer links to more
information about the changes and the new My Den page. Tutorial videos for viewers
to familiarize themselves with the new look and layout are available via Southeastern’s
social media channels and at southeastern.edu/newlook.
The university Web Publishing team regularly reviews the website to ensure it
is up to date with the latest security, content and trends. An additional recent update
improved the website’s search functionality.
