HAMMOND – The Louisiana Small Business Development Center (LSBDC) at Southeastern
Louisiana University will hold a free seminar titled “Maximizing Productivity and
Profit with Technology” May 23 in Hammond.
Scheduled from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m, the seminar will be held at the main office of the Southeast Louisiana Business Center, located at 1514 Martens Dr.
Assistant Director of the Small Business Development Center Sandy Summers said most small business owners know they can increase profits and make their businesses more efficient through technology, but the number of choices, along with new technologies introduced daily, can be overwhelming.
“Let us help you bring clarity to the topic of technology and show you how it can make you money, allow you to serve your clients better, and save time for both you and your team,” she said.
Guest speakers for the seminar include Ron Taylor of RAM Computers, Randy Ricks of Advanced Telecom, Mark Campo of Southeast Business Systems, and Brian Walker of 5 Stones Media.
“These men are entrenched in technology every day,” Summers said. “They understand the challenges that business owners face when trying to decide what is and what is not a viable technology to introduce into a business.”
Summers said topics to be discussed include how free tools from Google can streamline communication and collaboration in business; how a phone system can take the conversation beyond the walls of an office; how taking documents into the virtual world can put an entire office at one’s fingertips; how marketing automation can keep client communication going and dollars flowing; how to evaluate technology to determine if it is a good fit for business; and how to avoid costly downtime of computers, phones and internet service.
“After our speakers introduce you to these ideas, they will open up the class to a panel discussion,” Summers added. “You’ll have the opportunity to have your questions answered by the professionals, as well as learn from the other participants’ questions.
Although there is no cost to attend, seating is only guaranteed for pre-registered attendees. To register or for more information, call (985) 549-3831 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
