HAMMOND – The Louisiana Small Business Development Center (LSBDC) at Southeastern
Louisiana University, with co-sponsors St. Tammany West Chamber of Commerce and SCORE
Northshore, will host a free seminar on holiday marketing.
Titled “Marketing for the Holidays,” the seminar will take place in Covington
Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 9 to 10:30 a.m., at the St. Tammany West Chamber, located
at 610 Hollycrest Blvd. Kim Walker, owner of 5 Stones Media in Hammond, will lead
the seminar.
“It’s that time of year – the hustle and bustle of the holiday season is upon
us. The time is now to reach out to your customers, bring in new clients, and boost
repeat and referral business,” said Sandy Summers, assistant director of the Small
Business Development Center. “Whether you have a retail shop, provide a specialized
service, work business-to-business, or have a nonprofit in need of outreach, this
workshop will provide simple, practical tips for closing out this year on a high note.”
Topics to be covered include how to leverage social media to engage new and existing
customers; which promotions and special offers work for your business right now; the
best ways to drive response from emails and social posts; easy strategies to keep
offers looking good on a cell phone or tablet; how to create and manage a campaign
for the holidays, and how to create a simple playbook to plan marketing activities
all season long. The program will also focus on how to measure results to get more
out of marketing effort along the way.
Although there is no cost to attend, seating is only guaranteed for pre-registered
attendees. To register or for more information, call (985) 892-3216. Online registration
