HAMMOND –A Southeastern Louisiana University student received a prestigious accounting scholarship from the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board. Madeline Clouatre of Mandeville received a $10,000 scholarship from PCAOB.
“Positively impacting the lives of students is at the core of the mission of the accounting program at Southeastern. I have no doubt that the investment that the PCAOB is making in Madeline will be multiplied through her work,” said Department Head of Accounting and Finance and Phil K. Livingston Professor Robert Braun. “She is the kind of young person who will lead by example. The accounting faculty made an excellent choice in nominating her, and we are grateful that the PCAOB has chosen to support her in this way.”
According to Clouatre, her life was positively impacted by the scholarship.
“This award significantly lightens my financial burden as I enter my senior year at Southeastern, allowing me to focus on the most important aspect of school, learning,” Clouatre said. “It will also significantly help with the cost of my post-graduate studies. I was deeply honored to be nominated for this scholarship and truly blessed to have received it.”
“It was such an honor and privilege to be awarded the PCAOB scholarship,” Clouatre added. “I could not have received this prestigious award without the support from the Southeastern accounting faculty. They truly are like family, providing encouragement for me to reach my greatest potential.”
The PCAOB establishes auditing and related professional practice standards for registered public accounting firms to follow in the preparation and issuance of audit reports.
