Lion Traxx Safety Rules

All Southeastern Louisiana University policies, including the Student Code of Conduct, apply at all Lion Traxx shuttle stops and on board all Lion Traxx shuttle buses.

Boarding and Riding Guidelines

• Wait for a complete stop. Do not approach the shuttle until it has come to a full stop and the doors have opened.
• Allow passengers to exit. Let riders exit the shuttle before boarding. This helps the driver determine available seating.
• ID required. All passengers must present a valid Southeastern Louisiana University student, faculty, or staff ID card before boarding.
  No exceptions  passengers without a valid ID will not be permitted to ride.
• Remain seated. Shuttles will not operate until all passengers are seated and items are safely stowed.
• One seat per passenger. Seat-sharing is not permitted.
• Standing passengers. If standing is necessary, riders must use the overhead rails at all times.
• Keep aisles clear. Store all belongings under the seat to ensure aisles remain unobstructed.
• No food or drink. Eating and drinking are not allowed. Beverages must remain sealed while on board.
• Contain chemical items. Items like laundry detergent or bleach must be tightly sealed and stored in leak-proof containers or bags.
• Authorized riders only. Due to limited seating and insurance requirements, non-student minors and individuals not affiliated with the University may not ride.
• Service animals only. Only service animals assisting individuals with disabilities are permitted on board.
• No weapons. Possession of firearms or weapons of any kind is prohibited.
• No tobacco or vaping. Smoking and smokeless tobacco use are not allowed.
• Respect others. Maintain appropriate voice levels and be courteous to drivers and passengers.
• Zero tolerance for misconduct. Harassment, threats, refusal to exit the shuttle, or other disruptive behavior will be reported to University officials.

 Reminder: All Lion Traxx shuttles and shuttle stops are alcohol-, drug-, and firearm-free zones.

Inclement Weather

If Southeastern Louisiana University cancels classes due to inclement weather, Lion Traxx shuttle service will also be suspended.

Lost & Found Items

Before exiting the shuttle, check your seat and surrounding area for personal belongings.
Lion Traxx is not responsible for lost or stolen items on board or at shuttle stops.
Items found on the shuttle will be turned in to the University Police Department.

ADA Accommodations

The University operates a shuttle that is wheelchair accessible. For more information or to request accessibility accommodations, please call 985-549-BUSS (2877).

Video & Audio Surveillance and Emergency Procedures

All Lion Traxx shuttles are equipped with video and audio recording systems for the safety of passengers and drivers.

In case of an emergency, immediately notify the shuttle driver and contact the University Police Department at 985-549-2222.
