Christy Cook Perry, DNP, PMHNP, is an Associate Professor at Southeastern Louisiana University's School of Nursing, bringing over 32 years of direct clinical experience to the classroom. Her career in the mental health field spans both inpatient and outpatient settings, where she has provided care to patients across the lifespan. She has taught as an adjunct faculty since 2006 and became a full time professor in 2017. She teaches the courses in the graduate psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner program.
She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Tennessee, complemented by a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Louisiana State University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Loyola University, a Master of Science in Nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University and a post master from University of South Alabama.
