PEEPS - Peers Educators Educating Peers at Southeastern

PEEPS is a peer education group that focuses on tobacco prevention, education and
cessation among other topics on our campus and in the community through advocacy and
policy change. The group is comprised of students who are interested in contributing
student wellness. This group was instrumental in Southeastern’s efforts to become
a Tobacco-free campus. Throughout the year, PEEPS does many activities on campus and
in the community, including:

  • Geaux Pink Football Game.

  • Outreach and education on tobacco issues in the local high schools

  • The Great American Smoke-out – an annual event in November as part of a National Awareness
    campaign for tobacco prevention

  • Mocktails

  • Kick Butt’s Day

  • The Great American Spit Out with the Southeastern Baseball team

  • Certified Peer Educator training through The BACCHUS Network CPE Training program
