FRANCE ON THE EVE OF THE FRENCH REVOLUTION 61 illustrations copied from Recueil De Planches sur Les Sciences, Les Arts Liberaux, et Les Arts Mechaniques, avec leur Explication which are the illustrated volumes of Diderot’s Encyclopedia, first published in the mid-1700s. The volumes from which these drawings were copied are genuine eighteenth century editions.
