ISAT Admission Requirements

Applicants to the ISAT program must have completed an undergraduate degree program and have had at least 30 semester hours in any combination of chemistry, computer science, industrial technology, mathematics, or physics.  In addition, applicants to the ISAT program must have at least one of the following four items:

  1. a cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0;
  2. solid evidence of significant research work experience;
  3. at least one year of professional work experience; or
  4. a combined Verbal and Quantitative Score on the Graduate Record Exam of at least 280.

 

As part of the application process, applicants to the ISAT program must submit the following.

  • A letter of introduction stating the applicant's research background, their
    ideas for research to perform during the ISAT program, and their plans to
    extend their work in the ISAT program to future endeavors. 
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation.  At least one of these three letters
    should attest to the applicant's research abilities. 
  • Transcripts of all previous undergraduate and graduate work.

 

Not required, but recommended, is a written commitment from one of Southeastern's ISAT faculty members to advise the applicant on their research during the applicant's tenure in the ISAT program.


ISAT Graduate Assistantships

Applicants to the ISAT program who are seeking an ISAT Graduate Assistantship for the Fall Semester should apply by March 31st of the same year.

Applicants to the ISAT program who are seeking an ISAT Graduate Assistantship for the Spring Semester should apply by September 30th of the previous year..
