Eligibility
The Legislative Act 353 Scholarship is available to students who are dependents of firefighters or police officers injured or killed in the line of duty, as determined by the Board of Trustees of the Firefighter’s or Police Officer’s Pension Relief Fund. Eligible dependents of firefighters may receive the scholarship for up to 10 semesters, and dependents of police officers may receive it for up to 8 semesters, provided retention requirements are met.
Students who meet the above criteria may submit a request for the Legislative Act 353 Scholarship in their Workday account.
- Log in to Workday.
- In the search bar at the top of the page, type in “Create Request” and press Enter.
- Under Request Type, select “Legislative Act 353 Scholarship Request” and click OK.
- Fill out the form, upload relevant supporting documentation, and press “Submit”.
You will receive a notification of approval or denial in your Workday within 5-7 business days after submitting your response.
Retention
- You must maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA.
- You must be enrolled full-time (minimum 12 hours).
Scholarship Amount
This scholarships is mandated by the state to pay all tuition, fees, housing, meal plan, and provide a stipend per semester.
