Spring 2023 Informal Recruitment

IFC Chapters will each host different recruitment events from January 17 (first day of classes) THROUGH March 24 (deadline to accept a bid for Spring 2023). Chapters will host individual events and invite men who are interested in joining a fraternity to these events to get to know the chapter a bit better. 

In order to accept a bid from a Southeastern IFC organization during informal or formal recruitment, you must: 

  • Identify as a man
  • Be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at Southeastern
  • Have a 2.5 cumulative GPA - appeals may be granted due to special circumstances.
    • Appeals may be submitted for review to the Interfraternity Council using this link.
  • Be in good standing with Southeastern Louisiana University academically and with student conduct 
  • Have never been initiated as a member of another NIC/IFC fraternity at another university

Fall 2023 Formal Recruitment  

Southeastern IFC conducts a formal recruitment process during the fall semester. IFC Formal Recruitment is the primary way Potential New Members, or PNMs, join our IFC community each year. Coordinated by the Interfraternity Council’s Recruitment Team and Fraternity & Sorority Life, this week-long process is structured around a series of events called recruitment events. Recruitment kicks off with IFC Convocation and leads into smaller events. Each recruitment event is geared to allow PNMs time to interact with our IFC chapters in a more structured setting. At the conclusion of formal recruitment, Bid Day, PNMs will be able to select one membership offer from one of our IFC chapters. Multiple bids may be offered to a PNM and he must choose which one he would like to accept.
