HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University’s College of Education students were
celebrated recently at the college’s annual spring honors convocation.
The college announced the recipients of departmental honors and includes the
following:
AMITE – Chloe Thames, Dedicated Educator Award.
BATON ROUGE – Elizabeth Angel, Outstanding Teacher Candidate Award in Early Childhood
Education, PK-3.
BRIDGE CITY – Olivia Laizer, International Baccalaureate Candidate.
CONVENT – Alana Green, International Baccalaureate Candidate.
COVINGTON – Lainie Lecorgne, Outstanding Teacher Candidate Award in English Education,
Courtney McGuire, Outstanding Teacher Candidate Award in Biology Education.
DENHAM SPRINGS – Jessica Cowart, International Baccalaureate Candidate; Sadie Harris,
International Baccalaureate Candidate.
GONZALES – Jozie McKinney, Dedicated Educator Award.
HAMMOND – Hannah Dixon, International Baccalaureate Candidate.
MANDEVILLE – Abigail Martin, Outstanding Teacher Candidate Award in Middle School
Education, 4-8.
NEW ORLEANS – Morgan Garlepied, Roman Heleniak Award for Social Studies Education.
PAULINA – Jayden Martin, Outstanding Teacher Candidate Award in Special Education.
PRAIRIEVILLE – Kendall Adams and Sarah Badon, International Baccalaureate Candidates.
PRIDE – Madeline Toler, Outstanding Teacher Candidate Award in Elementary Education,
1-5.
ST. AMANT – Claire Bates, International Baccalaureate Candidate
THIBODAUX – Olivia Elfert, Outstanding Teacher Candidate Award in Health and Physical
Education.
WALKER – Meghan Fuchs, International Baccalaureate Candidate.
ZACHARY – Brian White, Outstanding Teacher Candidate Award in Music Education.
CUTLINES
1) SOUTHEASTERN COLLEGE OF EDUCATION HONORS (EAST BATON ROUGE) – Elizabeth Angel of Baton Rouge, left, and Madeline Toler of Pride were recognized
at Southeastern Louisiana University College of Education’s annual honors convocation
April 29. Angel received the Outstanding Teacher Candidate Award in Early Childhood
Education, PK3, while Toler received the Outstanding Teacher Candidate Award in Elementary
Education 1-5.
2) SOUTHEASTERN COLLEGE OF EDUCATION HONORS (JEFFERSON) – Olivia Laizer of Bridge City was recognized at Southeastern Louisiana University
College of Education’s annual honors convocation April 29. Laizer was recognized as
an International Baccalaureate Candidate.
3) SOUTHEASTERN COLLEGE OF EDUCATION HONORS (ST. JAMES) – Jayden Martin of Paulina was recognized at Southeastern Louisiana University College
of Education’s annual honors convocation April 29. Martin was recognized as the Outstanding
Teacher Candidate Award in Special Education
4) SOUTHEASTERN COLLEGE OF EDUCATION HONORS (ST. TAMMANY) – Lainie Lecorgne, left, and Courtney McGuire, middle, of Covington, and Abigail Martin
of Mandeville were recognized at Southeastern Louisiana University College of Education’s
annual honors convocation April 29. Lecorgne received the Outstanding Teacher Candidate
Award in English Education, McGuire received the Outstanding Teacher Candidate Award
in Biology, and Martin received the Outstanding Teacher Candidate Award in Middle
School Education, 4-8.
