and paths, combined with resources to help you learn more about your particular career
interests and personality traits.  Several of our favorite virtual resources to assist
you in this endeavor can be found at our Career Exploration and Career Assessment pages (including Type Focus and What Can I do With This Major).

Don’t underestimate the value of conducting virtual job searches as part of the career
exploration and discovery process.  Virtual job searches are available to you through
Handshake, as well as national-based job search engines such as Indeed and Career BuilderLinkedIn is also a great  virtual tool to explore various career options and paths.

Note that Handshake and LinkedIn utilize your account profiles to develop the content provided to you.  As a result,
taking great care in completing your profiles is important to your access to the most
relevant and valuable career-related information.

Virtual Resume Assistance

Your resume is the first impression you will make on an employer. Let Career Services
help you successfully market your qualifications to employers by implementing the
advice provided on our “Build A Resume” page so you can develop a resume that is visually appealing, professionally written,
and error-free.

Additionally, our Big Interview platform has its own “resume curriculum” that includes helpful videos to create a
document that effectively showcases your experience and skills to employers.

Once your resume has been written with our “Build A Resume” information and advice in mind, your next step is to add your resume to your Handshake
account in order to apply to part-time, internship, and/or full-time employment opportunities.
Note that your resume will receive a review by a Career Services staff member upon
your uploading it to Handshake.
