Welcome Back!

I hope you had an enjoyable summer full of special memories and lots of not-a-care-in-the-world moments! While I know external stressors were ever present, I hope there were times when you could completely forget them and reexperience the magic of a favorite childhood summer.

Just a couple of reminders as you continue your preparations for the upcoming semester.

Please refer to the Fall 2021 Semester Informational Memo for requirements and deadlines relevant to the management of your courses.

Committee assignments for Standing Committees 2021-2022 are being finalized and will soon be posted on the provost’s website.

The Fall 2021 Convocation is Friday. We will recognize recipients of the President's Excellence Awards, congratulate faculty recommended for tenure and promotion, recognize new employees and honor many faculty and staff for years of loyal service. Please refer to the August 5, 2021 email Message from the President for more details.

Due to retirements and some returns to faculty, there have been some leadership changes in Academic Affairs -- some new hats and a new face!

Dr. Tará Lopez is the Interim Dean of the College of Business.

Dr. Matthew Rossano is the Interim Department Head for the Department of Psychology.

Dr. Eileen Creel is the Assistant Dean for the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.

Dr. Alexandra Anderson is new to campus and serves as our SACSCOC liaison in her role as Director of Assessment and Accreditation.

I know the persistence of the pandemic has us all a little battered but the irrepressible spirit of excellence, commitment and determination of the entire Lion Pride will ensure another successful year!
